First Website Redesign
In CGT 141, I went into my first web development project—a redesign of Greater Lafayette’s Civic Theatre website. With a new logo and functional back-end capabilities alongside HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, the result was a mobile-responsive and engaging user experience. Note that this reflects the 2021 website design and is no longer active.
VR Education Access Project
This project aims to address the need for affordable access to virtual reality (VR) technology for educational purposes, particularly in teaching students how to handle dangerous equipment and materials. By providing customized or pre-made cardboard VR headsets, students can engage in immersive learning experiences, such as simulating hazardous conditions, which benefits not only students but also professionals in various industries and facilitates remote learning. Initial and final prototyping phases involved developing VR applications using Unity, integrating original 3D models, and conducting usability testing to refine the user experience.
Calculator: Asp.net event handling
I delved into ASP.NET event handling and object sender usage through building a single-digit calculator. Crafting calc1.aspx and calc2.aspx challenged me to optimize code, transitioning from individual to consolidated event handlers. Through debugging and meticulous coding, I honed my skills, delivering a comprehensive solution showcasing my growth in web development.
Color Converter Project
In my color converter project, I honed my ASP.NET skills while delving into the intricacies of logic gates, binary numbers, and hexadecimal conversions. Through developing a dynamic color converter application, I explored automatic PostBack, UpdatePanel, and ScriptManager functionalities, enhancing my understanding of web development. Mastering logical AND/OR operations and bitwise manipulation empowered me to dynamically calculate decimal and hexadecimal values based on binary input, while refining my cognitive thinking skills. This project exemplifies my proficiency in ASP.NET and showcases my ability to tackle complex concepts in web development.”
Data Connections
I learned to connect to Microsoft SQL Server databases using Visual Studio. Through practical exercises, I mastered essential SQL statements and System.Data.SqlClient classes. This project highlights my ability to integrate database functionality into web applications effectively.
